We last left off with a reset and the family took off for a day of "family fun!"
It took two attempts to get everyone out of the door, lol, but they all filed out for their day of fun!
Full disclosure: I used the motive mobile to take them to this location. Yes, in my head I USUALLY consider it cheating to do that, but I bought one with Adilyn's points in order to have for when teens need to learn how to drive (as yes, learning to drive is stressful and sometimes long, but never THAT much). In my fairness, I like to use logic and reason for why I use "cheaty" methods. If I can come up with a REASONABLE, LOGICAL explanation for why I do something cheaty, then I'll let it fly. It's a personal thing, really.
My REASONABLE,LOGICAL explanation for this use was that all of the children (+Liam and Adilyn) had full needs bars in the morning ANYWAYS from their morning routines, so when the reset happened it set them ALL back and got rid of their nice moodlets to boot. I figure this was only fair.
So! Where are they going, you are all dying to know because you totally aren't spoiled by the title?
The amusement park!
Ok so this isn't the regular Amusement Park, STORY TIME:
I once told you all that Roaring Heights was the town that was LAST on my list to get. I really was put off by the 20s theme and didn't think I would like it at all, that being said, I KNEW I would need to get it, not for any completionist goals or anything (though that DID neg at me too), but for one of my stories.
Long story short, one of my very far future plots for Song of the Nightingale would call for my couple to go to an amusement park together. So when I found some spare cash to buy this neighborhood with I knew I needed to get the boardwalk and I was... severely underwhelmed. It had a GREAT base though, and I had an INSANE amount of Store Content I could fill it up with (like an actual Carousel) so I went to work rebuilding it some months ago when I bought this world.
So whenever I play Roaring Heights now I put down MY version of the Boardwalk. I knew I just had to take my Baby Boom family here at least once. My file is starting to sputter a bit, and crashing is happening more frequently in this file than I'm used to, so I guess I wanted to go here at least once before I may be forced to move. Though in all honesty I could just put them in a FRESH Roaring Heights file, it's not like they ever associate with anyone outside of the house...
But let's not think of that! Let's have a day of family fun!

The tots got dropped off in the toddler area.
OFF WE GO!
The kids all got to ride on the Carousel whilst mommy and daddy looked on.
These kids were SO freaking cute!
They'd wave at their parents as they road past.
The kids were having a blast, and the teens were too:

(Snorts) I don't have much to say for this chapter, I'm just letting the pictures do the talking.
(You can see Brylee and Blaze going down a roller coaster hill in the background, hehe)
This was the best idea ever.
Brylee and Blaze took off for the next coaster completely soaking wet from the first. What better way to dry off than by ANOTHER coaster?
These twins being the oldest are SERIOUSLY rubbing off on me. I just love watching them. They do EVERYTHING together and have since they were toddlers. That just warms my little heart.

I decided to pop in and see how the tots were doing in their little park:
The Carousel ride tends to take a while, which is why I had Adilyn and Liam stop watching to chat, so Adilyn could get her wish for a backrub.
Meanwhile Blaze and Brylee conquered yet another coaster, so what's next?
Why the rock climbing walls for a few races!
Brylee won the first time, but I missed it because the kids got off the Carousel and I wanted to set them up in the arcade.
Blaze and Brylee went for another race.
Brylee fell off and onto the mat.
Where I took time once again to admire the beautiful details of the Sims 3 and how the mat bends where she's putting pressure on it.
Brylee did not take losing well.
To be fair, she did win once, and now so did Blaze!
Meanwhile across the way the food merchant decided to come pester Bethany.
...and the arcade was booming!
Liam and Adilyn were having some fun bonding.
The toddlers were happily keeping themselves entertained.
The food merchant went to bother Belle instead. Belle was uninterested and wanted to get back to her game of pinball.
Brylee and Blaze took silly pictures in the photobooth.
Benny got his face painted like a pirate!
Brylee had to leave for work soon, so she grabbed an icee in her favorite color before she left. Blaze ate some Cotten Candy with her in solidarity. I could've used the food court I put in, but none of the kids were really THAT hungry, so I just filled 'em up with sugar.
Off she goes!
Blaze got an icee treat as well!
And the rest of the kiddos filed out for some treats too!
Bethany got her face painted as well, it was supposed to be a sun, but instead she got a fail.
Liam and Adilyn occupied themselves in the arcade while the kids finished up their treats.
Blaze had to take off for work as well, so Liam and Adilyn rounded up the toddler twins, Briony and Brielle, and they all clown-car'd into this taxi to drive home.
To which it's hard to tell, but it started to rain. Good timing all around!
The kids came home to some socialization time.
Then it was time for the children's birthdays to teens!
Bethany, in the usual out of orderness, went first. Ladies first, I guess? She gained the Natural Born Performer trait.
Then it was Bastian!
He gained the Loves to Swim trait!
I'm almost certain he's 100% Liam, to the point where I put him in Liam's teen hair and compared:
100% Liam.
I have full face frontals of Liam at home, but I'm at work and this is the best I got in my Imgurian library.
I'll try to remember to update it later? Maybe? Or just show the comparison again proper later.
Last up was Bentley!
... who got cursed by his daddy to have pigtail age-ups! Bentley gained the Perfectionist trait!
and with that...
Adilyn officially raised 5 babes from birth to teenager!
Tomorrow is when pregnancy #5 turns into labor!
Almost halfway done with the challenge, kind of sort of!

Yay for completing the LTW! I'm considering using MC to change LTWs once they complete the original one - kind of like aspirations in TS4. One LTW is fine for a normal lifespan, but with this extended life challenge, they need something else to aspire to. Or is that too cheaty?
ReplyDeleteThe amusement park day was super fun, I cannot believe so few people use/show off that store content. I haven't got it myself, but sure others have. Roller coaster especially looks amazing. *jealous*
I really do love this town, and the Boardwalk is pretty fun when you have a lot of store content; when you don't it becomes just two roller coasters and some spring rides. I have small complaints with the content but overall I'm very pleased with it. It doesn't give very "lasting" moodlets, and the roller coasters don't at all which bummed me out, but the faces the sims make on it are priceless!
DeleteAs for your LTW thing, I don't think it's cheaty at all, but then again, as I've mentioned in my chapters, if I can logically reason away the "cheatiness" then I typically will side on the "not-cheaty" and my reasoning why would be that you'd still be EARNING the LTW, so why not get points for it? While I may do that with Liam, I'm going to keep Adilyn's the same - if only so she can reap the benefits of all those baby wishes + the bonus from her LTW!
