16 - Day of the Destroyer Door

Household Status:
Liam Messorem - Daddy, Werewolf, Young Adult.
Adilyn Messorem - Mommy, Witch, Young Adult.
Blaze Messorem - Boy #1, Werewolf, Teen.
Brylee Messorem - Girl #1, Witch, Teen.
Bastian Messorem - Boy #2, Werewolf, Teen.
Bethany Messorem - Girl #2, Werewolf, Teen.
Bentley Messorem - Boy #3, Werewolf, Teen.
Benny Messorem - Boy #4, Witch, Child.
Belle Messorem - Girl #3, Werewolf, Child.
Brielle Messorem - Girl #4, Witch, Toddler.
Briony Messorem - Girl #5, Witch, Toddler.

Liam took up his beekeeping... as usual. At least he's in clothes.

I put up the pictures that I found in their inventories! Unfortunately there were a lot of repeats, but they're still cute!

Adilyn gets all the massages she wants from her wonderful hubby!

The kids all found their way around my routine I set for them because my file is slowly dying.

Belle tends to stand away from the crowd - this is all she really does when I leave her alone. She goes off to her corner and plays by herself. It's a little saddening, but I guess it's easy to feel alone in a big house.
So I made a mistake guys.
The triplets aged up and they all wanted to be BFFs with each other.
Apparently.
In this game.
You can only have
ONE
BFF.
I did not know this.
I learned this...
Painfully.

I didn't realize it you see, and had Bastian ask Blaze (who he had maxed friendship with) and Blaze went NO WAY. I was surprised so I had BLAZE ask Bastian... not realizing...
Well it went through then, and Brylee was BETRAYED.
I'm a horrible Sim-Parent...

It was all a mess.

Adilyn went into labor.

Liam and Bethany started to form up my first pack. Bastian would reject Bethany (and I wouldn't understand why until much later when I realized that BFF thing getting betrayed ALL OVER THE PLACE) so Liam had to ask him.

Bentley joined but immediately backed out because there were WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE INVITED.
Poor Loner Bentley.

SO he turned back into a human and went back to the garden of solitude.

NO Blaze stop being so impatient! You're going hunting in just a minute!
Why is everything on fire?

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
(game stutters)
COME'ON BESSY.

So this is the end.
Lol, no not really. Adilyn gave birth to twin girls: Bianca and Beona; instead of doing the labor TWICE she did the spin and then the other popped into existence on the floor by the door where Brielle was trying to walk out of which caused the door to glitch open and no one be able to enter or exit.

I reset the town, used DebugEnabler to reset the door and Brielle. I used moveObjects on to delete the door and replace it... and each time was met with a crash. ultimately, the destroyer door would not let anything be.

Meanwhile... in another world...

Everyone: "What's going on?"
Adilyn: "Liam...?"
Liam: "Kids!"
Bethany: "Why is Beona on the ground...?"
Bentley: "Bianca is all the way over here!"
Bastian: "Where's the house...?"
Belle: "It's the SYRUP GODS!"
Benny: "House or no house this homework needs to be done."
Blaze: "I NEED TO RIGHT A HORRIBLE WRONG."

Blaze: "FORGIVE ME TWIN, I NEVER SHOULD'VE BETRAYED OUR BFF STATUS. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ALL THE WRITER'S FAULT."
Brylee: "No big deal. It's all good."

Blaze: "Be my BFF again?"
Brylee: (squealing) "YES, OF COURSE!"
Everyone: WHERE ARE WE GOING? WAIT!

Somewhere, in another ANOTHER world...

Liam: "Where are we?"
Your new home.
Adilyn: "But we're still in Roaring Heights?"
Yes I moved you to a new save to clean out the family inventory and make sure none of the bugs followed you, then I moved you to YET ANOTHER new version of this town. See? Proof!

You're no longer on the beach lot because it's not advantageous. You see the foundation stilts were cool up until I realized that everyone was being funneled in and out of a house and onto stairs. AKA my build was very pretty but had a lot of feature faults that I fixed in this Messorem Boom House 2.0.

First of all: One floor. ONLY one floor. Stairs are KILLER to waste time on.
Living Room shots:

Wide, wide open spaces. I want plenty of room for people to move around. I got totally screwed over with my last kitchen/dining area being just a little too tight.
Kids' bedroom:

Hall of All-in-Ones (color coded for easy assignment during morning routines):

The Teens' room:

The Kitchen:

The Nursery:

Master Bathroom:

Master Bedroom:

Outside:

Bonus hot-tub that was not in the last lot because I couldn't put it on foundation stilts.
Really the whole idea is pretty-looking function. There's 3 front doors so kids don't get jammed when leaving in masses (like to school or on family events); there's no stairs to cause issues, and there's plenty of room in each area of the house for there to be all the Sims at once.

SO, here we are! After 15 minutes of me spastically looking over every sim and what they need/want/require, I finally hit play.

And... that still didn't stop them from hurriedly bunching all together.

Bianca and Beona who got totally short-circuited at the last place finally get some love from mom and dad!

Several kids had homework that needed completing.
I went through GREAT PAINS to set my Lunar Cycle back EXACTLY as it was. It's a New Moon that night, 3 days away from the Full Moon, which is exactly correct when looking at the youngest twins' age meters.

Brielle and Briony head for their tot toys and I think Bentley is headed for the kids room to grab a bean bag chair.

Too late though! Already filled!
Note to self: may need to add more bean bags!

So the kids have mostly settled in... including Brylee.

(Sighs) that didn't take you long.

Why, Brylee? Why?

Since this was a confusing, non-informative chapter, here's some stats once again:

  1. The beach house was gorgeous and I'll miss it, but that said.. I tend to just build single story houses for my sims too. It's just so much easier than having a line waiting to use the staircase(s).

I hate the single BFF thing too.Like, I don't have to choose between friends in real life. Why should my sims?

    1. I know! I'll miss it too, but one floor is truly the way to go. I didn't have enough money starting out to do a huge one-floor plan with those stilts, so it quickly became two and I was starting to regret it a lot towards the end. Ironically, it wasn't even the SECOND story stairs that ended up being the nail in the coffin - but the stilt(foundation) stairs to the single doorway in/out of the house.

The BFF thing is ridiculous. I have 2 BFFs and then my husband (who is like an extra-special BFF). The worst bit was the BETRAYED part! I did remove the moodlet because it just felt ridiculous that someone would be betrayed over their BFF having another BFF (Granted I didn't realize until later that it would REMOVE their BFF status to place it elsewhere *eyeroll*). I may need to find a mod for it. (COLLECT ALL THE MODS!)

  2. Every time I open a new chapter of yours I count the number of names in the house and have palpitations. You can only have one BFF in The Sims 4 too and it drives me nuts! You can have more than one BFF!

Also, I love all the green in your home (I love all of it in general, it's beautiful)

Here's hoping for some more boys - if the house can take any more!

    1. Haha, it's funny you say that because normally I would too but here things really aren't so bad. I run a Short Dynasty where I only have the max household limit (8) and things always seem SO MUCH MORE hectic than this house!
Honestly I think a big reason why is because I'm such a micromanager, but I've not let myself get totally lost by keeping people up 24/7. In my Short Dynasty I keep everyone going 24/7 using the motive mobile and not having the schedule set around sleep can really stress me out! XD

Thank you so much! It's kind of a tribute to Liam/Liam's upbringing. As he's a Reaper (and thus part of the Reaper clan) he gets decked out in colored-gothic; the walling and flooring (as well as some of the furnishing) is done out in honor of the Reapers!

My fingers are crossed but if not, that's fine too. I'll see this challenge through to the bitter-end.
(Really though, my biggest concern is I'm starting to run out of B-Girl names that are unique, lol)

  3. I never knew that thing with the BFFs, how strange! I've had multiple sims use it before... I thought so, anyway. They definitely didn't lose relationships over it. Glad Blaze and Brylee were able to figure things out...even if it did require a move.

Love the new house, open spaces are totally the way to go! Brilliant idea to colour-code the All-in-Ones. Now hopefully the next pregnancy can get you some more boys...you want some of mine? The issue I have with using the Balanced option in SP is that as other sims in town start having children, it puts your genders out of whack. You may need to turn it back to random...then again, in a new world/save, it should start fresh again.

    1. Yeah! It totally caught me off guard! So annoying! They didn't seem to lose much in terms of relationship but... I never let the betrayal sit long. It just seemed ridiculous! Maybe for CHILDREN it would be a ONLY ONE BFF, but teens? Eh, maybe there's a mod. (Found one: http://classic.modthesims.info/download.php?t=539718)

As for boys, pass'em around! Spread that love for me! I didn't even realize this new save would be advantageous for me that way... hopefully that's not too cheaty. I guess we'll just have to see.

  4. I love the new house. I prefer single storied homes too for large challenges. If it's one where I don't need a billion kids, I might go for two stories or even just have a basement.

I never do the BFF thing because it's so lame. I might grab that mod, but I'd probably never use it.

    1. I love the look and feel of multi-story homes, they feel more "real" but when going for actual GAMEPLAY that's functional one-story is the only way to go. XD

I honestly didn't end up getting it just because I use it so seldomly, but even still it's a lame thing EA didn't bother to think about.
